Abstract

A high gain and high aperture efficiency Fabry-Perot antenna using a novel partially reflecting surface(PRS) is proposed in this paper. The PRS is composed by two substrates with three layers metal structure. The PRS and the ground plane form a Fabry-Perot cavity to enhance the gain of the antenna. The antenna is designed to operating at 10GHz with a size of $90\text{mm}\times 90\text{mm}\times 12.1 \text{mm}$ . The simulation results show that the designed antenna can realize a gain of 16-19.05dB on the band of 9.8GHz-1.02GHz (4%). The maximum gain of the antenna is about 19.05dB at 10GHz and the aperture efficiency is 71.05%.
