Abstract

A practical method is presented to substantially simplify the design of beam configuration for an arbitrary number of laser beams, where the beam axes pointing at the target center are arranged on co-axial cones. Low-mode asymmetries can be smeared out automatically by optimizing both the polar angle and the energy assigned on each cone.
