Abstract

An analytical method is presented for the determination of hydraulic and geometric elements of partly full flowing circular and non-circular sections with known parameters being discharge, depth of flow, bed slope and Manning's roughness coefficient. This method will eliminate the application of tabular and graphical form of hydraulic elements for partly full flow conditions, which provide relationships between partly full flow and full flow hydraulic and geometric parameters for sewer system design. The method can also be applied to stormwater system design and is extendable to any shape of sewer or stormwater pipe cross sections.
