Abstract

The current work successfully designed, fabricated, installed, and tested the power supply system for the superconducting outsert magnet of the 45 T hybrid magnet in the Chinese High Magnetic Field Laboratory (CHMFL). The system has achieved a long-term current stability of 10 ppm over 4 h period with a short-term current ripple less than 0.1 ppm over a time period of one cycle after several rounds of optimization. Its dump system has functioned with 100 % reliability since its operation. This paper presents the detailed design and test results for the power supply system, with emphasis on the realization of its important specifications.
