Abstract

This paper presents the contact stress analysis of the carbon-fiber/epoxy resin composite gear train, where a spur gear models are developed using advanced software for pro-e modelization and torque load application meshed and analyzed using the Abaqus analysis software. The interaction of the tooth in a three-dimensional coordinate of a pair of spur gear systems is analyzed as body touch in this paper. The analysis consists of one loading condition in which, by limiting all degrees of driven gear freedom, the torque load on the driving gear is imposed. The model is mated in such a manner that the fine and coarse components around the gear teeth can be found in other parts of the model. Displacement magnitude and three-dimensional stress are found for both the driven machinery and the moving gear.
