Abstract
Due to the voltage frequency difference between the generator and the distribution network, the load is usually supplied by diesel generators with the method of blackout followed by switching operations during equipment maintenance. This paper proposes a modular power electronics synchronization and load transfer controller (SLTC) between the generator and the grid, which quickly adjusts the generator frequency to make it consistent with that of the power grid and transfers the load to realize an uninterrupted power supply. In addition, considering the improvement of the capacity utilization of the converter and the mobility of the equipment, this paper adopts three converter modules coupled with the DC side. The AC sides of the two modules are connected with the generator and the grid, respectively. The AC side of the third module is connected in series with the connecting line between the generator and the power grid. Furthermore, the circuit topology and the control strategy of three modules under different operating modes are specifically designed. Finally, the performance of the controller and the feasibility of the control strategy are verified by MATLAB/Simulink.
