Abstract

Here we propose a broad supercontinuum spectrum generating highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber (HN-PCF) which is used in ultrahigh-resolution optical coherence tomography and optical transmission systems. The Photonic crystal fiber structures so designed are delivering Gaussian output with single mode nature . The required non linearity in the structure is able to generate the supercontinuum output in the wavelength range 400nm-2400nm. The real and imaginary parts of effective indexes plotted with respect to wavelength, are seen to be decreasing as the wavelength increase for three different values of air filling fractions.
