Abstract
In this paper, a Q-band traveling-wave tube (TWT) was designed and simulated with a Folded Waveguide (FWG) as its slow wave structure. Through simulation, we got a conclusion that when the beam voltage is 20KV, the beam current is 0.15A, the FWG TWT can output over 200 watts of power in 43.5–45.5GHz. Because this type of TWT can be easily manufactured and assembled with high output power and low-cost, the Q-band traveling-wave tube should have good prospects in the communication area.
