Abstract

Using of RS232 and RS422 communication cable in industrial automation for communication between controller and touch screen was often used, but it has limit on the distance so that make a developing for cable communication is increasing gradually such as profinet and profibus. However, those cable have a less speed and need an adding connector for communication with Personal Computer (PC). In addition, manufactured touchscreen has a limitation in providing the visualization and storing the data for further analysis. Therefore, it is built an integration system which can support PLC Mitsubishi to communicate with Microsoft Visual Basic via UTP Cable. Not only controlled, those several machines also monitored and able to be acquired data. In this research, has a result that time connection to be used open communication from engineering software has been made from Microsoft Visual Basic .Net was installed on PC to PLC as Human Machine Interface (HMI) on average 0,85 second and for close communication on average 0,58 second. In addition, data were shown into PC same with actual value from PLC and have a correction approximately 0,2 until 0,4, also have an average deviation standard on average 0,45 until 1,64. So, the HMI has a good accuration. And time delay to show data from PLC to PC only 0,44 second with scan rate set on 0,5 second.
