Abstract

Abstract In order to improve the corrosion resistance of Al 10Si coating, Al-10Si-xZn-yMg (x = 5, 10 wt%; y = 0, 1, 2, 3 wt%) alloy was studied by phase diagram calculation, microstructure observation and polarization curve test. According to the phase diagram and microstructure, Al-10Si-xZn-yMg (x = 5, 10 wt%; y = 0, 1, 2, 3 wt%) alloy is composed of α-Al, Si and Mg2Si. In addition, the cooling rate has no effect on the phase type of the alloy. In the joint efforts of the solid solution strengthening of Zn and the increase of Mg2Si reinforcing phase, the hardness of Al 10Si alloy increases with the addition of Zn and Mg. With the cathodic protection of Mg2Si, the corrosion resistance of the Al-10Si-10Zn-2 Mg alloy is the best.
