Abstract

The main concepts of CALPHAD method (CALculation of PHase Diagrams; Computer Coupling of Phase Diagrams and Thermochemistry), focused on calculation of phase equilibrium diagram of ceramic systems are presented. An overview of thermodynamic assessment of ceramic systems is addressed. Generalist thermodynamic models used for description of multicomponent ceramic phases are summarized. Application of CALPHAD method is depicted with calculations of specific phase diagrams for ceramic materials development.
