Abstract
We report the synthesis and characterization of novel chromophores based on chlorogenic acid. The structure analysis and photophysical properties were studied to investigate the structure of the new chromophores. Such chromophores showed a great improvement in water solubility, which can explain application areas such as molecule probes, SHG imaging, and photodynamic/photothermal therapy. In addition, both chromophores A and B displayed good thermal stability with an onset decomposition temperature over 200 °C. These results showed that chromophores A and B had good thermal stability and nonlinear optical properties and are a promising candidate for practical use.
