Abstract
Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) system is a kind of advanced train automatic control system that integrates radio communication and automation control technology. Data communication System (DCS) is one of the key subsystems in CBTC system. In existing Urban Rail Transit, the train-ground communication system mainly uses Wireless Local Networks (WLANs) to realize the transmission of different train-ground communication applications independently. It is difficult to maintain all these communication infrastructures. In this paper, firstly, the system architecture of Long Term Evolution (LTE) and the Time Division Duplexing LTE (TD-LTE) based Urban Rail Transit train operation control system are introduced. Then, a TD-LTE based train-ground communication integrated system using the TD-LTE system of Potevio company in Shanghai zhangjiang track traffic training base is presented. Besides, an indoor TD-LTE interconnected system of different manufacturers are designed. Based on the two systems, two different test scenarios are set up to verify that the TD-LTE based train-ground communication system can satisfy the communication Quality of Services (QoS) requirements of all different applications. Extensive test results show that the performances of designed integrated and interconnected TDLTE based train ground communication system can satisfy the communication requirements of Urban Rail Transit.
