Abstract
Metamaterials have been used in MRI for local resonators to enhance localized sensitivity and as transceive array elements. However, a comprehensive method for their design has not been formulated. Here, a design method utilizing 2D transmission line analysis and the corresponding dispersion is presented for a rectangular and cylindrical metamaterialliner, for use as a receive array and transceive resonator, respectively.
