Abstract

This paper deals with a comparative study of liquid level control structures: PID controller and Fuzzy logic controller. The major purpose of this work is to develop an advanced controller like Fuzzy logic controller for controlling the liquid quantity of the cylindrical vessel system. This method is a non-linear method as the parameters change when the operating point changes. First, the PID controller is designed for various operating regions. Then the advanced Fuzzy logic controller is developed and closed loop simulation study is performed for different operating points. Finally, the performances of the above controllers are compared using LabVIEW software.
