Abstract

With the shortage of fossil fuels and the rise of pollution, green energy vehicles are becoming more popular in transportation. Urban areas are increasingly utilizing compact electric vehicles, as well as personal transporters. Their main downside is that they are extremely expensive. For this purpose, a self-balancing, low-speed, battery-operated personal transporter used for short-distance travel is presented in this work. This paper describes the design and fabrication of a battery-operated Rover board. This low-speed, personal transporter aims in carrying a payload of 68 kg with a speed of 6 kmph for shorter distance travel. This modified 4-wheeled, Rover board is powered by battery-operated motors and uses switches for movement control. No cutting-edge technologies are used for balance and steering purposes, which is achieved using a support wheel. Therefore, a low-cost and efficiently designed Rover board is fabricated.
