Abstract

The main objective of this research communication is to furnish the necessary information to correctly design a solar air heating system that can be used for residential or agricultural applications. An inexpensive augmented integrated solar collector cum storage system using rocks as a sensible heat storage medium has been designed and fabricated to provide low grade heat to suit the needs for space heating and agricultural applications. Experimental observations of fluid temperature, energy storage and other measures of system performance are also presented in detail.
