Abstract

The present work focuses on design and analysis of a friction clutch plate with different materials. Single plate clutch is one of the most essential parts in automobile components. Modelling of the single plate clutch with predefined dimensions was done using CATIA and analysed. Aluminum alloy, E glass epoxy, and ceramic materials were selected in this study. In order to determine stresses and deformations, the clutch has undergone static, dynamic, and thermal analysis. From the results it is observed that the Aluminum Alloy 6061 has performed well in static, dynamic and thermal analysis in comparison with the other materials. From the observations it can be concluded that Aluminun alloy 6061 can be the best suitable material under the given conditions.
