Abstract
Due to the interaction of fundamental and harmonic fields, enclosure effect in iron bridge area may not only increase the leakage reactance, but also reduce the stray losses caused by harmonic flux density and high frequency current density in rotor bars, which is useful to design the high-efficiency inverter-fed cage induction motors. With a 30kW, 4-pole induction motor induction motor, this paper analyzes the performance such as slot leakage reactance, starting current and maximum torque, considering enclosure effect of closed rotor bars with different parameters by FEM, meanwhile, a prototype was manufactured and the experimental validation is also carried out, the results show that, compared with the IM with semi-closed slots, the same performance can be achieved by adopting closed slots with inverter-fed conditions.
