Abstract
An H-soft-switched cell is proposed to obtain soft switching in single-switch nonisolated DC-to-DC converters. The proposed cell provides constant-frequency loss-less switching. It may be regarded as a soft switch with a similar control circuit to that used in conventional PWM converters. Based on an equal area concept, a unified method for steady-state analysis is also proposed. The concept of equivalent effective duty is introduced to simplify the design of the converters. Experimental results of an H-soft-switched boost converter are presented to verify the proposed topologies and the analytical methods.
