Abstract

The heavy hook may cause the problem of high labor intensity, high risk coefficient and low work efficiency during replacing the insulator string of Ultra high voltage (UHV) transmission lines. By using the finite element method, the mechanical properties of the carbon fiber wires hook was analyzed through structural optimization and the process design of carbon fiber layering. The successful development of carbon fiber eight-split wires hooks lays a foundation for the application of carbon fiber composites in UHV transmission lines live working.
