Abstract
This work explores the role of lumped elements and distribution parameter elements on the performance of microwave low-pass and band-pass filters. To this end, a method that is able to realize microwave low-pass and band-pass filters with lumped and distribution parameter elements is proposed based on electromagnetic simulation software. Besides, the designed filters are tested with physical objects. The simulation results reveal the consistency between the performance parameters of the designed filters and the design requirements, as well as the filters’ unfavorable filtering performance caused by the obvious influence of frequency on the inductance. The approach gives an insight into the future design of high-performance microwave filters.
