Abstract

This paper presents a six-band metamaterial absorber (MMA). It has a three-layer structure: metal-FR-4-metal. The simulation results demonstrate that there are six distinct absorption peaks at 8.94, 16.47, 19.35, 23.61, 27.03 and 27.42 GHz and absorption rates are 99.68%, 99.52%, 99.46%, 99.92%, 99.89% and 96.22%, respectively. Through the analysis of the effects of structure parameters, then optimized them. Then the electric field and surface current distribution has been studied under the normal incident of TE and TM waves. The simulation results illustrate that it is polarization-insensitive and has simple structure and high absorption rate, so it can be applied in electromagnetic stealth, bolometers, sensor and so on.
