Abstract

This is a method for upgrading traditional bicycles with an electric hub motor powered by a battery, as well as converting electric bicycles into solar-powered versions. The solar panels, mounted on the bicycle and hub motor, allow for easier riding. A solar controller is connected to the battery to convert solar energy into electricity, which is stored in the battery and used to power the hub motor. While traditional bicycles require manual pedaling and motorized bicycles rely on fuel, electric bicycles can only run for a limited time. The proposed solar bicycle aims to address these weaknesses by using renewable solar energy to extend the bicycle's range and automatically recharge when not in use. The high-torque motor of the solar bicycle is powered by a portable solar panel, which absorbs energy from the sun and directly powers the motor if the energy meets the required amount. If not, the motor draws on the power stored in the battery. When the bicycle is not in use during the day, the solar panel charges the battery for future use. This system aims to make bicycles more efficient and sustainable.
