Abstract

The endogenous processes and the construction of new development strategies allow researchers to consider the territory as the main agent of leverage development - not only economic, but social and local. This view of the territory enables the understanding of the “proximity effects”, which favor the strengthening of social capital, in its various dimensions. This research aims to analyze social capital linked to the development of territories, and proposes a framework for evaluating territorial social capital. In order to achieve this goal, we conducted a descriptive research using the survey method. The results suggest four factors explaining the territorial social capital: proximity, territorial anchorage, reciprocity and collective memory.
