Abstract

Recommended data on vapour pressures above liquid and solid phases and enthalpies of vaporisation and sublimation were developed for six basic polycyclic hydrocarbons and dibenzothiophene which are considered as model compounds for petroleum fractions and coal liquids. The recommended values are presented in the temperature range where reliable experimental data are available, mostly from about 220 K to about 550 K. The data are given in terms of parameters of the Cox vapour pressure correlation equation which has an identical form for the description of both vapour–solid and vapour–liquid equilibria. Equation parameters were developed by a simultaneous multi-property correlation of new experimental vapour pressures and liquid and solid heat capacities obtained in this work supplemented by critically selected literature values.
