Abstract

Although for the current government administration in Mexico the public media constitute an important media sector and for this reason it has promoted its foray into digital platforms, its policy for them continues to be focused on radio and television. However, in the context of the development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which entails the incorporation of the so-called post-internet, which will become an essential service and whose access, therefore, will have to be guaranteed for the functioning of society, this policy is insufficient and needs to be reformulated from a perspective of the concept of public service in the 21st Century, so that in Mexico the scope of such media extends beyond radio broadcasting and offers the new digital services, amongst them, the ones provided by the new stage of the networks.
