The aim of the current paper is to present the main advances between the women’s movement and the rehabilitation programs for perpetrators of gender violence linked to Criminal Justice, giving a special emphasis to the Spanish reality. Spain has passed through a radical change in the field of programs as a result of the Law 1/2004, act that made possible the launch of programs in the community sentences as well as inside the prisons. This analysis is important because of some of the debates bringing here, had already reproduced in some countries with a greater rehabilitative tradition, or they repeated themselves in those countries whose programs are in early stages. The result is a new approach to the gender category in the criminal justice.
