Abstract
To the Editor: Connective tissue diseases (CTDs), including, among others, systemic erythematosus (SLE), subacute cutaneous erythematosus, discoid lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, morphea, eosinophilic fasciitis, and systemic sclerosis, are complex illnesses presenting diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.1 Cutaneous involvement can be recalcitrant and is associated with decreased quality of life.2,3 In 2008, Brigham and Women's Hospital established a CTD clinic directed by a dermatologist with specific CTD clinical expertise (R.A.V.).
