Abstract

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that affects the face. Because of this, it can be very distressing to the patient. Mild-to-moderate rosacea should be managed in primary care following current guidance. Nurse prescribers are ideally placed to manage rosacea and support patients with lifestyle advice. Treatment should be matched to the type of rosacea, and a 3-month treatment rule should be applied before review. This article addresses rosacea and its subtypes, treatment and practical skin care advice.
