Abstract
The present paper constitutes an approach to nanotechnology from a legal perspective. Different recognized nanomaterial definitions – especially by the European Union and the International Organization for Standardization – are presented and analyzed, with the aim of studying the suitability of the definition given by the Consejo Nacional Asesor de la Red Colombiana deNanociencia y Nanotecnologia (National Advisory Council of the Colombian Network of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology).
