Abstract

After a short phytosociological comparison of the plant communities with the plantgeographical formations the anthropozoogenic influence of the high Andean vegetation of Central Peru is discussed. With the exception of few plant communities (e.g. of the subnival belt or some bogs) most plant communities in the high Andean region are influenced by man. The most important factors, which determine the vegetation, are the overpasture, the employment of fire, the erosion of soils (caused by human activity), the wood-cutting, the irrigation, the sowing of European pasture-plants etc. As original vegetation in the subalpine belt a evergreen bush, in the alpine belt a treeless grassland is supposed.
