Abstract

Abstract Recently reported experimental results in depth selective conversion electron Mossbauer spectroscopy have been compared with theory based on Monte Carlo simulation of the electron scattering in the absorber. Good agreement is found. The Monte Carlo simulation demonstrates clearly the importance of the angular interval selected by the electron spectrometer entrance aperture.
