Abstract

Thin films of CdS has gained conisderable attention due to their applications in photovoltaic devices. devices. Herein, we reported the deposition of CdS thin films using chemical bath deposition (CBD) by varying the Cd source concentration, pH, temperature and surfactant concentration. These variables were found to affect the crystallinity and morphology of as-deposited CdS thin films. Interestingly, well defined rod like morphologies and better crystallinity was observed at 1.0 M Cd source concentration, 80 °C, pH 10 and 40 mg sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) surfactant concentration.
