Abstract

Lund is a city in the southern Swedish province of Scania, across the strait from Copenhagen, Denmark. Archeologists date the foundation of Lund to around 990, when the area was part of Denmark. Lund University was founded in 1666 and is one of Scandinavia’s oldest and largest institutions for education and research. It is consistently the most popular choice in Sweden for international degree students. The university has around 46,000 students and more than 8,000 staff. The engineering faculty was founded in 1961.
