Abstract

This article discusses Denver Water's “Use Only What You Need” water conservation campaign, put in place by the water utility to meet a 22% reduction goal and encourage wise water use as a permanent way of life. The utility offers rebates, provides water audits, and fines people who don't follow watering rules, among other methods. The article discusses how the campaign uses nontraditional advertising tactics and a humorous approach to being environmentally conscious.
