Abstract
Dental and oral disease in Indonesia, especially caries and periodontal disease are still one of the most common health diseases, from childhood to adulthood. Society for dental and oral health is still low, and even tends to ignore the condition of dental and oral health. Research objective: to examine the effect of counseling media using 3D Dental Explosion Box on dental and oral health knowledge in elementary school children. Methods: The type of research used is Quasi Experimental with One Group Pre Test Post Test Design. The research sample was 30 respondents who were taken using the Total Sampling technique. The questionnaire was filled out twice with a Pre Test Post Test accompanied by counseling using Explosion Box 3D media. Results: Wilcoxon test results obtained knowledge of p-value = 0.000. This means that there is an effect of counseling using the Dental Explosion Box 3D media on the knowledge of oral health in elementary school children at SDN 3 Sumelap, Tasikmalaya City. Conclusion: The level of knowledge before and after being given counseling with 3D Dental Explosion Box media increased. Before being given counseling, the average knowledge of students was 58 with sufficient criteria, after being given counseling the average knowledge of students increased to 77.5 with good criteria.
