Abstract

Densities and viscosities of ternary mixtures of N,N-dimethylformamide + benzene + chlorobenzene and corresponding binary mixtures of N,N-dimethylformamide + benzene, N,N-dimethylformamide + chlorobenzene, and benzene + chlorobenzene have been measured at (298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15) K. From these data, excess molar volumes (VE) and deviations in viscosity (Δη) have been calculated. Several empirical equations have been used to predict the excess molar volumes and deviations in viscosity of ternary mixtures. The kinematic viscosities of binary and ternary liquid mixtures have also been correlated with mole fractions by McAllister's equation.
