Abstract

Vulvovaginal candidosis occurs frequently in women of reproductive age. Local therapy with imidazole derivatives is very effective and should be preferred to oral therapy. In a multicentre trial in Holland and Belgium a single-dose treatment with a 240-mg terconazole vaginal suppository proved as effective as a 3-day treatment with vaginal suppositories containing 80 mg terconazole or a 3-day treatment with vaginal tablets containing 200 mg clotrimazole.
