Abstract
This article studies the demercaptanision of petrol and petrol refinery products as an environment protection method. The reactions of sulfur, hydrogen sulfide and organosulfur compounds in oil and oil products with iron carbonyls were studied. Their reactivity was analyzed. A method was developed for the preparation of iron dodecacarbonyl based on the amine salt of undecacarbonyl hydridotriferrate followed by acidification. The results obtained can be the basis of the chemical technology for demercaptanization of oil and oil products as an environment protection method.
