Abstract
This article provides an overview of dementia. It looks at the incidence of dementia, the three main types of this condition and the suggested clinical management guidelines for Alzheimer's disease dementia, with specific focus on the main pharmacological approach to this condition. The management is discussed with specific reference to the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines released in 2006 with regards to Alzheimer's disease dementia.
