Abstract

Female reproductive aging includes progressive declining in ovarian follicle number. In human, premature ovarian failure (POF) is defined as menopause occurred before age 40 involves abnormal or failure of follicle formation. The mechanisms are largely unknown. Calponin is an actin filament associated regulatory protein. Calponin isoform 2 is known to regulate actin cytoskeleton related functions in various cell types. Our present study investigates the impact of calponin 2 deletion on ovarian development and aging.
