Abstract

Background: The use of the duodenum for biliary reconstruction has been controversial given concerns over possible increased rates of sump syndrome, cholangitis, stricture, and lack of mobility. However, there are several studies that suggest the use of the duodenum is just as safe as Roux-en-Y reconstruction.1,2,3
