Abstract
The degradation of YBa 2Cu 3O y (Y123) and NdBa 2Cu 3O y (Nd123) thick film was examined by soaking the films in ultrapure water at room temperature. The Nd123 film was found to exhibit more water-resistant property compared with Y123 film. A large difference in microstructures of the surface of the films was also found between the two films.
