Abstract

Overcoming the identity crisis of Russian society is complicated by the complex ideological and narrative legacy of the Soviet era, which not only raises the question of restoring historical continuity, but also of depoliticizing historical heritage. Due to a combination of divergent trends and the gradual erosion of a broad discursive space, Russia has failed to build a coherent historical narrative. This article examines the reasons for the failure of the discursive construction of the historical narrative in the 90s of the XX century.
