Abstract

The authors have studied the deformation-strength properties of crosslinked PMMA-organic glasses obtained by the copolymerization of prepolymer MMA and the dimethacrylates of mono and triethylene glycols. It is shown that in certain conditions a thermodynamically incompatible biphasic system forms consisting of PMMA and the crosslinked polymer matrix. This enhances the deformation-strength properties of the glasses as compared with those based on the MMA monomer.
