Abstract

In the present investigation, the deformation behaviour and annealing of brass have been studied. The brass samples were rolled at ambient temperature and subsequently annealed at 420 °C, 520 °C and 620 °C for 30 min. This work aims to study the hardness variation with different percentage reductions in the thickness of the brass. The hardness variation has been correlated with the microstructure evolution of the annealed brass specimen. The work findings demonstrate that the cold rolling progresses, increases in hardness value and grain shape changes. As the annealing temperature increased, the drop in hardness was noticed.
