Abstract

Experimental information on multi-quasiparticle isomers is compared, with special emphasis on the hafnium isotopes. New results for 174Hf are presented. The co-existence of deformation-aligning and rotation-aligning influences is considered. Residual interactions are studied as a function of the number of quasiparticles, with large effects being evident for large numbers of quasiparticles.
