Abstract
Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare and locally aggressive malignant tumor in head and neck region and it could extend to involve the skull base, some of which are unresectable. Various kinds of radiotherapy (RT) were performed to treat ACC involving the skull base and achieved different effects during the past few decades, but no 125I interstitial brachytherapy was systematically reported. The main purpose of this article is to retrospectively study the oncological outcome, toxicity and prognostic factors of ACC involving the skull base treated with 125I interstitial brachytherapy.
