Abstract

Objective To observe the value of deep venous catheterization for tumour chemotherapy. Methods 62 tumour patients taking chemotherapy were randomly divided into control group and observation group.Venous accesses in patients of control group were established through traditional venipuncture, while the ones in patients of observation group were built by deep venous catheterization. Results The incidences of phlebitis of control group and observation group were 61.3% and 0.0%,respectively with significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusions Chemotherapy through deep venous catheter for tumour patients can avoid the stimulation of chemotherapy drugs on periphery vein and enhance chemotherapy safety. It is worth generalizing clinically. Key words: Deep venous catheterization; Chemotherapy; Phlebitis
